The Platform is available to users aged 13 and above. Users between the ages of 13 and 17 must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to register and use the Platform.
When a learner registers, we ask for their date of birth. If the learner is under 18, registration cannot be completed unless the learner provides the full name and email address of a parent or legal guardian and confirms that the guardian has consented to their use of the Platform. We record the guardian's details, the fact of consent, and the version of this policy that was in effect at the time.
We use a guardian's name and email address only to record and verify that consent has been given, and to contact the guardian about the learner's account where necessary, including in relation to safety concerns, account closure, or a request to exercise the learner's rights under POPIA. We do not use guardian contact details for marketing, and we do not create a separate account for the guardian.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at privacy@findalancer.com.
Parents or guardians who have provided consent for a minor to use the Platform may contact us at privacy@findalancer.com to review, update, or delete the minor's account and associated data, or to withdraw their consent. Withdrawal of consent will result in the closure of the learner's account.
